Each week we will be starting a reading story for the week on Monday and finishing up the week with a reading quiz on Friday. This is not a test they must study for since we spend a lot of time in class on the material. A few times a year we will read some novels and the students will participate in literature circles to teach the students how some of their reading skills carry over to books they can find in the library. Twice a year your child will be bench marked to give me a starting point for where they fit best in reading groups. This system helps ensure that your child is being taught at their level. Nightly reading is strongly encouraged to improve comprehension and develop a love of reading!! |
